Solving the maintenance budget problem!

Elaine and I did not like the idea that the maintenance fees came due at the end of the year every year because it was so close to the holiday spending for Christmas and New Years celebrations. We have two deeded weeks of at two different timeshare resorts. Both are two bedroom units and 5 star rated. One week in the Ozarks is $345 every year and the other in Minnesota is $595 every year. The two weeks total $78.33 when budgeted over 12 months. What we did was budget and pay the two resorts the total of $78.33 per month starting in January for next years vacation. When you think about it $78.33 will most likely buy one motel room at a decent motel each month. That motel room does not include all the amenities of a timeshare accommodation if you were to vacation that way. We are paid ahead each year for our vacations. We did not ask the resort if they would accept monthly payments in advance we just did it and now we consider it in our monthly vacations as a normal bill paying event. It has been so much easier.
